About Me:
I am an experienced English and Maths Tutor in the North of Manchester with over 11 years experience ranging from KS2 to GCSE level.
I have EXTENSIVE experience in tutoring students in Maths & English from the age of 5 onwards.
I am also skilled in preparing students for entrance examinations to private schools such as Bolton School and Bury Grammar.
I have covered key stages: KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE, and have unto date materials for a variety of exam boards such as IGCSE, Edexcel, OCR, AQA and WJEC.
I have consistently helped students obtain first class grades and thoroughly improved their confidence in their subject and themselves.
In schools, students are taught in groups of up to around 30 students to one teacher. This means that there is a lack of personal focus on an individual's education. I provide exclusive tuition on a one to one basis to students, help them improve dramatically and consequently boost their confidence.
I’ve worked with many students who, at the beginning are extremely behind and as a result, lack confidence. My methods of teaching have had a proven track record of success.
It is important to recognise a student's learning style to improve and enhance his/ her understanding. This can be missed at school due to class sizes. I can assess this and tailor learning appropriately. subjects in the most effective manner according to the students’ personality and what type of learner he or she is.
Whatever your goal is for your child, I can help you reach it as long as the student undergoes what I instruct in conjunction with independent learning that I provide guidance for.
With every student I commit to, I work extremely hard to ensure that we are consistently making lasting progress.
As a person I would describe myself as approachable, committed, empathetic, driven and motivational. I am a great believer in investing in self development.
A lot of students have come to me in the past with a very pessimistic attitude to the subject, extremely frustrated and lacking in confidence. Their belief is that they are not good enough because of what they may have experienced in the past. I work tirelessly to inspire all my students to be the best they can be and believe that success is absolutely attainable through hard work and consistency.
I spend a lot of time preparing the best printed material I can provide for every lesson, and produce a lesson plan that is designed to cater towards progression. I teach and guide my students to the highest standard, and he / she will benefit from all the knowledge that they have been taught according to their learning requirements. I provide them with homework, give regular feedback and scores to assess progress. I genuinely care about every student I work with and feel very rewarded when I hear the updates from parents and students about how much they are progressing in school or how well they did in a recent exam as a result of our hard work. I genuinely care about my students and want them to remember our lessons in years to come as being enjoyable as well as educational.
I always provide regular feedback to parents and inform them about their child's progress as I recognise the importance of keeping parents up to date and reassured that their efforts are going towards a worthwhile investment towards their child's future.
I have taught a huge range of students including those with learning difficulties and 'looked after' children.
I value the relationship I have with every family I have the privilege of helping and like to be seen as someone who can guide their child in the right direction for academic help and support rather than simply be "another tutor".
A vast majority of my clients have been recommended to me through word of mouth, and I have gone to tutor their children long term. It has encouraged me to build a good relationship with families as well as provide an excellent service, and I feel that this is what differentiates me from other tutors. It is very reassuring and flattering that I have been recommended so highly through this means.
