School Experience:

I currently provide tutoring for one first-year undergraduate, one A-Level student and one year 6 pupil.
I have worked with both OCR and EdExcel A-level History courses.
In a previous professional role I designed training material for civil servants and delivered 6-week training courses in a traditional classroom environment. I also delivered 1-week refresher training for existing staff. I have passed a number of courses relating to classroom training and presenting material to groups.
I currently work as an I.T. supplier manager for a large government department. This is a role that requires good interpersonal skills and an ability to pitch information at people with varying levels of understanding and experience.

Teaching Style:

I believe that every individual learns and absorbs information in a unique way. Whilst in the classroom a certain degree of uniformity is necessary, I do not believe that this model is applicable in a one-to-one environment. I am keen to listen to the student and understand the way in which they learn, so that I can tailor my tutoring according to each individual's needs. Fundamentally I believe that people learn most effectively when they are relaxed and happy, and this informs the core of my approach to tutoring.
